Prima Villa

Our rental wasn't gonna be available this trip, so we took a gamble on Prima Villa. The home was very cozy, we rather enjoyed it. It had everything our family needed except a cheese grater. The beds were very comfortable. It would be nice if the house had some gutters. It wasn't fun walking down the steps having water dripping on you. I used extra caution because I fell down some steps back in August that were wet and tore my MCL. That could become un safe for someone if they're going down and accidentally slip from the water that drips from the roof. That would be my only complaint. My mother was bummed there wasn't a TV in the bedroom. She likes to lay in bed and watch TV every night prior to going to sleep. Besides the gutters, that was her only complaint. Because of the water that drips on you as you're cautiously walking down the steps I give it 3 out of 5 stars. I would recommend the place to anyone, but I personally won't stay again unless changes are made with the water dripping on the steps. I have a major fear of falling down steps that are wet!

Hard to find anything first row for this price, but limit your expectations. The rooms were clean. A bit rustic. Furnishings were minimal. Dryer didn't work very well. The kitchen was not as stocked as we are accustomed. The baths could use some minor updates. Not all slider doors worked very well. Owners could put some $$ in it and it would be much better. Suncoast does a great job in property management. It was beachfront with a beautiful view.

I would recommend this house to anyone!!! 4 bedrooms big main room. 50 ft from beach. House has some years on it but. I will rent it again. Great house for famlys with grandchildren Had a wonderful week!!!

This house was a great set up right on the beach! Yes it is older however the new furniture and beds were great! It was very clean! The one bathroom (with the blue tub) the sink needs to be recaulked. We had to call about the air and they sent someone that evening. Overall it was a great place!

We liked this older home because being we are two couples going together, we each had a side of the house with bedrooms and bathroom.
Roomy living room and kitchen area.
We liked it, reasonably priced accordingly.
Wish they would supply dishwasher detergent for the week, but we survived. lol
Suncoast Vacation Rental were very nice and helpful too.

We enjoyed another great week at the Prima Villa on SGI. The new furniture and flat screen TV in the great room were very needed and appreciated. The beachfront location is perfect. The outside deck furniture does need to be replaced. Only one of the four chairs was not broken. We have stayed here a number of times and always enjoyed our visit.

Our vacation at Prima Villa was WONDERFUL and so RELAXING. The house had everything we needed and the view is amazing. Will definitely stay here again. The staff at Suncoast is #1 - they are always friendly and helpful and in my opinion the best on SGI!!!

Great time

St George is beautiful and will hopefully remain relatively undeveloped in the future. Prima Villa sits right on the beach with both a covered and open deck. It's a comfortable home with four bedrooms that accommodates 8 people; however, some of the furniture and kitchen equipment could do with some updating; the dining table only seats 6. Tiny TV for the huge living room, but we were not there to watch TV anyway. All in all we were very satisfied with our stay.

We enjoyed our stay at Prima Villa. We had a few issues when we first arrived but they were taken care of the very next day. The home is a little older but clean, comfortable and a great location!

the house was awesome. location was great. only complaint was maybe the driveway. the guest we had with a compact got stuck in the east side lane of the driveway. no worries. i am coming back next year

House was very out of date and needs some minor things fixed but overall we enjoyed our stay.

We enjoyed our stay at Prima Villa very much. The house does need some TLC, new furniture, TV, etc. The screened porch and open deck were great. We had a very late evening arrival and the Suncoast staff was very accommodating.

We are having a great stay. Suncoast could not be more accommodating. The house is “old Florida” just like the area of St George Island and Apalatchacola. Great view of sunrises and beach.

Great, older beach home. It is definitely no frills, but my group of 7 found the layout very good. Everything is older but it is very close to the water. We found the beds to be comfortable.

We had a wonderful relaxing time, the home was vary cozy and comfortable. Amazing view of the ocean thru the big windows in the home. Loved the screened in deck.

The house has a great floor plan. Screened in porch on one side deck on other side. The views and size of house amazing. The beds are horrible. 3 rooms with small full beds all horrible mattresses. One room with twin beds not sure about their mattresses. This would be perfect to rent for my family but not sure because of beds. Easy rental services and easy enter.

We have rented this house 4 times over the years and we love it for its' location and because it fits our family. The folks at Suncoast are always great and very responsive. Our only complaint is the poor quality of the mattresses. We have repeatedly requested that they be upgraded, to no avail. It seems that if you're in the business of vacation rental you would, at the very least, provide your guests with comfortable sleeping accommodations. So, we are asking yet again that the homeowner do what's right and install new mattresses. All of them could be replaced with good quality foam mattresses for less than $2,000.00.

Could use some work and furniture in the bedrooms. Also a refrigerator that works properly. Also curtains were not wide enough to cover the windows. Sliding door didn't.

Wonderful location and beach frontage, very disappointing furnishings and quality of the home, very worn, desperate for update , we would have paid more for better accommodations, I think it is a good value for SGI, we just had no way of knowing what it was like

We had a great 4 days! The location was wonderful, our view was spectacular even while inside the house, with abundance of big windows! The house could use some updating. Easy fixes, put trash cans in the bedrooms, mirrors in the bedrooms, and maybe small table to set your stuff on. Bathrooms really need updating. But we enjoyed the house and out time at the wonderful beach!

Prima Villa is overall a good property to rent. However, it absolutely could use some updating. There were two spots on the ceiling where the ceiling was coming off. It rained when we came so we needed to utilize the DVD player and the player and TV are so outdated that we had to remove the rust on the cords to put them in. The DVD player was disconnected when we got there and again it's so dated that it was difficult to figure out where everything went. The location of the property is perfect. We rent this property repeatedly not because of the actual house (again... very dated) but because of the location. The carpets need replacing with probably just hardwood. You can tell they are very dirty and never professionally cleaned. We just wear socks most of the time to avoid walking on it. The main bedroom light has to be cut on and off several times to get the light to come on. The smoke detector went off everytime we opened the oven to remove whatever we were cooking so someone had to stand there and fan the detector while another opened the oven. One sliding glass door is very difficult to open but my husband is able to do it. This most recent time when we went there were a few dirty washcloths and hair from the previous guest in one of the bathrooms. Management offered to send a cleaning crew to clean again but we declined as I had already cleaned and Cloroxed everything. With all that being said, if you can deal with those things, the property's location is really great. The covered porch area is great. Overall, we have a good time and make good memories at Prima Villa.

Never seen a TV that small in about 50 years. All TV's we have seen in rentals on SGI have been an exercise in frustration to operate.
Hardwood floors are nice but the driveway is a pile of sand, most of which we tracked into the unit to walk upon. The patch from the beach is also 100% sand. But, parking on concrete under to unit was good and fairly protective. There was a water hose under there too so you could rinse off you vehicle and the concrete. Didn't use the outside shower or sink. Never went fishing. Beautiful sunrise and great beach walking.
No lamps on the beach side of the unit left is quite dark in the evening. Only one trash bag provided so bring a couple 13 gallon kitchen bags with. The front door and lock worked well. The sliding doors - not so much. Takes two hands - one high and one low. Otherwise thy rock and jam.

Happy place

From the time we arrived the place was super clean, the beds were comfy and the views were amazing . Hoping we can talk the husband into doing this trip annually @ thanksgiving

We had a wonderful time staying at Prima Villa! The location could not be better - we enjoyed the screened porch and the deck, along with the full windows facing the beach. We also appreciated the outdoor shower, and the short walk to the beach. The house was very spacious for my family of five, and I like that it is a simple beach house, without a lot of fancy touches. I don't want fancy when I come to SGI; I want comfortable and easy. This house is just that. If you are looking for Ritz-Carlton style, this is not that; if you are looking for a beach vacation like you remember growing up coming to SGI, this is it. The layout is great. The only thing I wished to change: that I could have opened the sliding door to go straight to the open deck (possibly user error), and that there were a few more chairs on the deck. However, I know how harsh beach weather is on outdoor furniture, so I am not really complaining.

This is the third time we have rented this house and we really do like it. It fits our family and is right on the beach, and not too far from the center of the island. The only criticism I have is the poor quality of the mattresses on the beds. They are terribly uncomfortable. Before we rented it this time, I asked if the beds had been upgraded and the property manager told me they had been. That is not true. They are the same old worn out mattresses. Given the availability of good quality foam mattresses at very reasonable prices, it would not take much of an investment to change them out. After a long day at the beach, it would be good to have a great night's sleep. The only other criticism I have is the lack of kitchen utensils. I'm guessing over the years they have been depleted by loss/theft, but they really do need to be replenished. Also, the frame of the loveseat in the living room is broken internally. All that said, we would like to rent the house again next year, because every time we do, it feels like coming home.

This house was perfect for our stay at St George. Only wished there were ceiling fans in the bedrooms.

Good. We have stayed at this house 3 times in the past 2 years. The furniture is old and needs replacing. There needs to be a bigger TV in living room and TV's in the bedrooms or at least one of the bedrooms. Overall a great place.

Distance and views from house are excellent. The decks, steps and underneath are very nice and seem to have been recently updated. Inside is a whole different story. The sliding doors won't hardly open, preteens and younger can't do it. A mattress in one bedroom is terrible! We saw another review and specifically asked if it had been replaced and we were told any problems reported would have been corrected. It was not and it was bad! Like sleeping in a taco bad. Otherwise it just needs some updating, basic stuff like paint, shower curtains, etc.

Covered parking, screened porch and 2 oceanfront bedrooms were a plus. Wi-fi and cable television were strong and reliable. Suncoast is out go-to management company because of their customer-focused service and policies as well as best prices. During our stay, we had a minor maintenance issue that was fixed promptly and quickly.

The home offered a lot with under parking, deck and screened porch. The inside layout worked well for our family. The negatives were the mattresses should be replaced in the rooms with queen and full beds. They were awful and we had to sleep in the very edges to keep from rolling into a hole in middle of the mattresses. Some of the floresant lighting was not working in the bedrooms although there were lamps it would have been better if they worked.Other than that the house met all of our expectations and we would rent again. The location and proximity to the beach was wonderful.
