Sea Turtle

I didn’t realize this property was located in a private gated community when I booked it. We just wanted a last minute get away from Destin and I knew I wanted something on the beach so I chose location over the quality of the actual house and that worked for us! However people should know this house is like preserved in time. I don’t think anything has been replaced or even attempted to upgrade since it was built and originally decorated. No water pressure, sliding glass doors throw bits of rust when you open them. There are some nails that stick up on the deck. Furniture is old. But the view is great. You have access to the plantation pools and nature trails. So if you are looking for beach front in a nice neighborhood and don’t care about the house this place is it.

We’ve stay here the last two summers for a week and really enjoyed our time here. Pros: right on the beach with private access (a stones throw from deck to beach), beautiful views, AC works great, fairly priced, all the basic necessities you need from a beach house; this area of beach is lovely and we often didn’t have folks next to us, or if we did they were a good 30 yards or so away. Cons (stuff I’d like them to work on): deck has had some repairs since last summer, but needs a bit more; main con is no outdoor table on back porch and there was only three deck lounging chairs on the deck and each was broken in some capacity (simple fix with a little investment by rental co) - we remembered this from last year and brought our own portable picnic table which worked well; house needs to be continuously treated for bugs, it’s prob an issue for most beach houses, but seemed like a lot of bugs inside we came across; water pressure was often limited as was hot water, but not a big deal even with 6 people. Overall a good house that was fairly priced to reflect the older house. I recommend it!

Beautiful view from the deck! We enjoyed our first stay in a Plantation home very much!!! The Sea Turtle is in a very quiet neighborhood, and we enjoyed strolling on the beach and on the walking trails!

We had a wonderful time at Sea Turtle. The outside chairs have been replaced since we were last there. The path to the beach has been cut wider so all in all the improvements were nice. Unfortunately the weather Sept 26 thru Sept 29 was not what we wanted but you can’t predict the weather. Great time otherwise!

Sea Turle is very affordable and was very clean but the property need some TLC, especially the deck. The railing is missing some spindles and the railing on the right side of the steps leading down to the path to the beach is not even attached to the house. It’s very unsafe and I definitely would not have children stay at the house. also the bushes off the deck need to be trimmed way back. You have to walk to the far end of the deck to see the beach because these bushes are so overgrown and obstruct the view.

The location of our house was excellent. It was clean. The house needed some updating, especially living room furniture. Beds were comfortable. Needed some painting and faucets and sinks needed to be replaced. The kitchen was well-equipped. Sun Coast was very helpful and prompt with heating/cooling problems. Techs were very helpful and friendly. All in all a pleasant stay.

We all had a very enjoyable time. The house was neat, clean and very bright and spacious. Easy beach access with beautiful sunrise mornings. Weather couldn't have been better and the Seafood Festival and light house climbs were great. We looked forward to coming back "home" to the Sea Turtle after our adventures in the local areas. Thanks so much for helping to make this such a positive experience.

The deck and stairs have issues, but I did not feel unsafe, just don't walk barefooted. The path to the beach needs widening. One of the bedroom doors will not close. Hoping they make these fixes before next year as it is one of the more affordable places to stay.

This house was right on the beach and had a million-dollar view. It was clean and the beds were comfortable. Check in was easy.

Suncoast was fine to work with . check in was great and the location very nice too. Property badly needs to be updated and better maintained. old faucets, lamps, beds etc. should have other tvs and a better tv guide besides just a channel list.

Very peaceful, relaxing and enjoyable, as always. The location is superb, which is one reason we keep coming back to this property. The layout is family friendly, and the beach of the Gulf of Mexico is just steps away. The staff at SunCoast are exceptional, always helpful and courteous. Couldn’t ask for more in that regard.

Pros- steps to the beach, Plantation amenities-walking distance to pool, tennis courts, weight room, main clubhouse, great location, very clean and well maintained, great management company.
Cons- Owner needs to replace dryer. DO NOT USE IT UNTIL YOU ASK IF IT HAS BEEN REPLACED. It tore holes and left brown marks on a whole load of laundry. I still did laundry but hung to dry.

Beautiful view, short stroll to the beach, nice outdoor shower, lots of shells on the beach, got to see dolphins:)The rental was clean and roomy. Our only complaint is we think it could be updated a little, the LR furniture needs to be replaced and the our master BR mattress was uncomfortable. Otherwise we had a good time!

Our original rental was sold and new owner would not honor the reservation. Suncoast was awesome in helping us find another place. I have rented from Suncoast for over 30 years. Great folks. This was an older house but had everything you could need. Very clean, good beds.
Only down side, the stairs were very high!

It was an older house and did have several issues that should have been resolved before we arrived. It had a broken toilet seat, roaches, bad tv remote, and door to the deck in 2nd bedroom doesn't completely close. However, It was a very good price, especially for beach front in the Plantation

Great beach. Good location but some repairs do need to be made to the decking on the beach side deck and the rails going down. The rail is not attached at the top and could be dangerous. Inside is nice and was a good size for 6 people. Kitchen was adequately stocked (no extras but we had everything we needed). Also the outside shower only drips water so it was very difficult to rinse off before going inside.

They have made some improvements to the outside of the home, painted changed the screened porch etc. which were all nice. Love this location and it's well worth the money.

Overall our stay was good and pleasant. This being an older property, you could feel it move when someone walked across the floor. When we checked in, the staff informed us that the house had recently been painted and the ladders near the drive would be moved the next day and the front porch light fixture would be installed that afternoon. It was four days before the ladders were removed and the porch light fixture was never installed. In my opinion, the furniture needs to be replaced including the mattresses. Everything else in the house worked as advertised. With updated furniture and lights working outside, we would definitely come back to stay in this rental!

kudos to suncoast for fastest check in ever. location of house was great. I would point out three things
1. stove needs to be replaced oven temp was very inaccurate and front eyes did not work
@. for a house that sleeps 8, if there is to be one tv, have one with streaming capabilities.
3. could maintenance periodically hamme in the exposed nail heads on the deck?
the suncoast staff were a pleasure to deal with.
overall would stay there again

Great old house. No thrills but awesome location on a great island.

We had a great time and love St. George! The Sea Turtle is a sweet older house situated in the middle of some huge beautiful new homes. Even though she is a bit weathered, we loved the breathtaking views. We had a small group and wanted to just read, cook fun meals, and enjoy the beach. Sea Turtle was perfect for us.
